So.. You Decided To Buy A Switch/Switch Lite [A Guide]

Whether it be Christmas or even your birthday, You decided to get either the Switch or the Switch Lite and i gather your lost, yes? Don't worry folks, I have some advice and tips for ya First your first likely concern, Which to get? The original Switch or Switch Lite? Depends on your method of gaming, If you game both on the TV and on the go: Get the original Switch (either the OG model or the recently released longer battery version) However, If you're a handheld exclusive kinda guy - I wouldn't fault ya if you get a Switch lite There are essentials that are in order for your newly acquired Switch (or Switch Lite) - Switch Online subscription ($20 per year is a must with auto renewal always active being beneficial) - Additional Joy-Cons (for multiplayer and customization) - Electronic Contact Cleaner (to prevent drifting) - Pro Controller (for TV play) - MicroSDXC card (most recommended: SanDisk branded and those within the 250gb-300gb range mainly for data and DLC reasons) - Something to carry your Switch (handheld mode or likewise) and game cards - a My Nintendo (aka "Nintendo Account") account to access the eShop - eShop cards (self explanatory) - A spare AC adapter for on the go - Battery Bank in case no sockets at the destination (use USB-C cord from Pro Controller to charge Switch when in handheld mode) One thing that the Switch has that can be beneficial is that it's region-free You can buy games from Japan physically via these sites - (PayPal required) https://www.play-asia.com/ - https://www.yesasia.com (Free Shipping) If you wish to import digitally, This handy dandy lit'l guide would be of service to ya: https://tiredoldhack.com/2017/04/14/how-to-buy-switch-eshop-games-from-different-regions/

Now on the issue of games, Apart from Importing - It depends on your taste However, If i have to recommend games for newcomers - it might/could be the following - Pokemon Sword and Shield (Let's Go! Pikachu and/or Let's Go! Eevee are optional but tedious on the go because Pokeball Plus required but if you want Mew in Sword or Shield, you HAVE to get a Pokeball Plus) - Any of these Timesink games: Stardew Valley, Doraemon Story of Seasons, Farm Together or Stranded Sails - Puzzle games like Puyopuyo Tetris, CROSSNIQ+ and Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns - For your F2P (Free to Play) fix, I highly recommend Asphalt 9 Legends and Gems of War - There's a lot of good rhythm games on the Switch to recommend, but if i have to recommend one to start - It'll be "Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n Fun" - For experiences you wish to explore, i really recommend Night in the Woods and My Brother Bunny apart from those, the eShop has some good gems like Hamsterdam, Galaxy Champions TV and those in the Arcade Archives library for instance, you just have to look around for what suits ya
