I know i'm excluding the Kairosoft titles and Rollercoaster Tycoon Adventures in this piece, but i'm focusing on these 2 titles as they are trying to give people the experience they normally get from SimCity Here, I will tell you flat out honestly which one is the best SimCity-esque title is the bang for your buck (sort of speak) First, Project Highrise: Architect's Edition PROS: Gameplay streamlined, Even with infinite wallet - It plays fair even to the most mid-tier player, Includes the DLC packs from Highrise's initial release in game CONS: It lags out after the Autosave counter hits 1 (that's pretty much it) Now, Cities Skylines: Nintendo Switch Edition PROS: Looks nice (that's it) CONS: Laggy at times, a tad too hard for both the mid-tier and casual gamer and especially with a infinite wallet, Your city will be Virtual Detroit in a heartbeat [no seriously, No matter how hard you try to please your citizens... There will always be a problem that will turn your city to shit]
If anything, If you want a SimCity-esque simulation game.. I say go for Project Highrise: Architect's Edition It's stable, It's addictive and far less savage than Skylines Now i wish i could say this opinion would change if the Switch release of Skylines will be patched and get the latest DLC expansion but the team that ported Skylines to Switch (Tantalus) stated that they (unfortunately) have no plans to issue performance patches or bring over additional DLC like the recent "Cities Skylines: Industries" pack to the Switch version With this in mind, Go with Project Highrise - It's the best SimCity-ish experience you can have on the Switch (apart from the Kairosoft games that is)
