Review #1: Hamsterdam
Before i begin, I am aware that some of you have read the biased review of the game on Nintendo Life (which is now unsalvageable after Alex's retirement from the site), All the reviewer did is used the Steam demo of the game and used it against the final title but you don't have to take MY word for it First here's a word from one of Hamsterdam's team, Leland on Nintendo Life's review
and here's a word from Hamsterdam's unofficial tester, Surrika Hammah on Nintendo Life's review
As i write the review [which i'll get to, hold on] - Muse Games is working on patches for the game and once they release the first patch, they plan to contact Nintendo Life to request a redo on their review based on the actual release this time around
OK, NOW the review
Hamsterdam is shaping up to likely be one of the most underappreciated and heavily overlooked Switch eShop games of 2019 thanks to Nintendo Life's poorly written review and the idiots that believed it
The plot is basically Pimm's titular town was taken over by Marlo the Chinchilla and his goons and kidnapped Pimm's Grandpa all while getting the citizens hooked on Marlo's concoction called Marlo Tonic (or as i like to call it, Sammy Sosa's Super Cerveza because of it's side effects as implemented on his Bunny goons [in Mini Boss sections] as well as Marlo himself)
The game has 3 control schemes, 2 of which are Switch Lite friendly - Touch Screen and Button Controls.. the 3rd is Motion Controls The motion controls in Hamsterdam can be finicky (akin to Taiko no Tatsujin) but the game is best played via either Button or Touch Screen controls The music in the game is actually putting you in the mood as makes you feel like you're playing a 1970s Kung Fu film [but with animals] However if there's one problem with the game [as of this review's posting] is the load times
When you boot the game and pass the Joy-Con strap disclaimer, after you see the logo for Muse Games - It takes a wee long to get to the first cutscene as well as the main splash screen but thankfully the load times do shorten (but not by much) by mostly menu to stage transition but do get aggravating when you wish to reset a stage [note: Muse is aware of this issue among other faults of the Switch release, as stated - they're at work developing patches to improve the Switch release] All and all, despite its faults (which will be ironed out in the near future), The game is actually a really fun game
Game score: 8.0

Originally released exclusively in Japan for the 3DS, Shinobi Spirits S: Legend of Heroes is an interesting game This platforming beat'em up [while mindless fun like Hamsterdam] has its faults, mainly in the placement of the scrolls and the pieces of the message from the king of the Beast Clan Some are easy to obtain and some are so hard to find it requires either backtracking or more maneuvers to obtain the buggers While the game is enjoyable, most of the time - It's can be very difficult for most players Yes, It has a skill tree but good luck preserving the spirits needed to unlock them because you will likely die over and over from either sneak attacks or boss battles If anything, Despite the lavish praise - I say wait for a sale on Shinobi Spirits S Game Score: 7.2
