Night in the Woods is a game that's really hard to explain without spoiling the vital parts The game is a story driven adventure platformer where you play what seems to be the best representation of mental health in media ever, Mae Borowski - a twenty something girl cat who dropped out college and returned to her hometown of Possum Springs which is going to shit since her time at college - again, it's hard to explain the game's plot without spoiling the experience The least i can do for the plot summary is this neat animated tribute i found (sorry for cheating Joshua, I REALLY don't want to spoil the game 'ere - this tribute is mainly the footnotes)
If there are negatives i have to point out is basically these, If you think BOTW is tedious in regards of capturing - NITW will blow BOTW outta the water because for some reason, The Switch release won't save the sketches in Mae's diary after your prior playthrough and you HAVE to re-obtain them all over again Also, If this game is not for you - not sure what to say for you However, The Switch release has the Weird Autumn patch which has the pre-release games: Longest Night and Lost Constellation - If you ask me, Lost Constellation is the best of the two because of the ambience as well as production art as mere achievement awards in the game Final Word: Night In The Woods is a game that's sadly overlooked in the Switch community While they are going ga ga over Celeste (which it's basically Super Meat Boy with mental health slapped on), Night in the Woods is an experience you must check out and believe me, the $20 price tag is DEFINITELY worth the price of admission
Game Rating: 9.8 out of 10
