Behold the much rumored Switch Mini is revealed, Nintendo just announced the Switch Mini of which they are announcing it as the "Nintendo Switch Lite" While we can finally shut up about this bloody thing, First here's the trailer from Nintendo UK
TL;DR - Here's the good news and bad news The Good News: It's priced at $200, D-Pad, Variations (including a Pokemon Sword and Shield one) are confirmed and a longer battery life The Bad News: It's Handheld Only [so Tabletop and TV mode is no go], How can you insert a microSDXC card in that bloody thing?, The Switch's modular functionality is gone which makes it's multiplayer functionality in doubt (the Switch lite in particular), You can't use Labo with it, No IR Camera and No HD Rumble Also in doubt is this, As you know - the Joycons are prone to drifting so how can we know for sure that the Switch Lite will avoid this flaw? If by chance you do get this thing and if by chance it likely gets drifting issues, I highly recommend using Electronic Contact Cleaner spray - It worked for the Switch's Joy-cons, so likely it'll do the same miracles for the Switch Lite [again, if by chance it's prone to same drifting issues as it's console counterpart] Look, I know this article/editorial sounds like i'm damning this thing but i dreaded the omissions [as listed in "bad news portion"] when this became a reality from the start Does this mean i'm advising not get it? Not really, I do acknowledge it'll likely bring in new players in the Switch community (so by chance that our community does get Switch Lite users, please don't bully/harass them for buying it as they wish to join in on the fun as much as the next guy) Whether you wish to buy the Switch Lite or not is entirely up to you, If you do - We at NWC will happily will welcome you aboard in the Switch community (regardless of the toxic/salty people therein)
